Thank you for taking the time to clarify the information not available in the original story.
I now understand where you got the "seizure of assets" quote.

I think the "but none has gained significant backing." from the first story is significant, because I don't think the bill has a chance. Congressman appear to be doing/saying things to make them look like they are addressing the issues. Makes them look good on TV to the folks back home paying $2 for gasoline.

<<standard political posturing using executive orders>>

> I am not an expert on exeutive Orders (something tells me you're not either), but I doubt declarations of national emergency are "standard."

Didn't say emergency ones were standard, just that Clinton likes issuing them, about 1 per week it seems. He has issued 325: nara.gov Doing a search - 40 have the word "emergency" in them:
pub.whitehouse.gov

> the Order actually blocks others from seizing Russian assets, rather than allowing the US seizure of Russian assets, as we both suggested, so I (we) misspoke

Agreed. Looks like the excutive order was to encourage and protect the shipment of weapons to the US for processing instead of it going elsewhere in the world. This would be bad for goldbugs since it might prevent uranium getting to terrorists then leading to a nuclear incident which might help gold rise ;)

Paul M:

I personally appreciate it when you use your logical reasoning and draw possible creative inferences from the so called "facts." IMO, there are no facts, just interpretations. In order to be a successful investor/trader, requires an great Imagination( as the tie between the sensible and supersensible worlds) and the ability to anticipate market events in advance.

You are who you are and I respect that. I am who I am and I am what I become. Don't ever change who you are and what you stand for and value for anyone on this thread (including me) or for anyone in life.

Keep up the great creative interpretations.

I interpret and create, therefore I exist.
