I think that's a great idea!!! It would be a nice tax refund and maybe I could fashion mine into some kind of gaudy neckless that would even make Mr. T. jealous... <VBG>

Btw, speaking of Mr. Henderson's 1997 report recommending the sale of all US gold, here the text from that (.PDF file, Adobe Acrobat required).

But if you look at the trend Henderson expects gold to travel after all know reserves are fully exploited in approximately 2029, then maybe we should hang onto until all the other nations have sold their stocks. Then we can sell for $600/ounce.

That's assuming, of course, gold doesn't follow the path of oil and we find even more deposits of the stuff. This would be in addition to extraction cost efficiencies that seem to be making gold cheaper to mine.
