But But... Show me the meat. Until all these advantages translate into earnings it doesn't mean didly.
If 2Q comes out at .23-.24, then that will be the first signal and fo;;owed by 3Q at .27. That will put Dell around .90 or p/e closer to 50 and peg closer to 1. Until then I would rather sit tight.
Let us see what great news kemble will bring from the annual meeting.

Mike,
Hi!!

RE:

Hi Kemble, my simpleton thinking on Dell is as follows:
Look at the lower left hand corner SI chart for 2 years. Take a ruler and trace a line on your computer screen with a felt tip marker, you will see that Dell from January 1999 to now has risen at an annual rate of only 20% (I looked at the red trend to smooth out the big climbs and plunges to draw my line). The reality of this trend is amazing given that Dell has been adding plants and people during this time at a blazing rate of +50% growth. Couple this fact with Dell's unceasing push for radically improved manufacturing efficiency (such as latest Nashville lines for laptops put them now on par with desk tops) as well as Dell's blow out rise in % internet sales, says to me that Dell revenues and earnings are set to surprise a few. The stock price trend will then have to adjust.

Nothing is more simple than my thinking... :o) I cheat off the management and add some visual or physical perceptions or true to life photos...The words of the management is what I start with...This thread taught this valuable lesson to me long ago..Wish I'd listened even closer from the start...The perception is in what I perceive to be in Nashville...or in the writing from Sig with the # of workers hired in a year...Adding the knowledge of what each and everyone has historically made for us as shareholders scares me...Then there are the photos...The actual pictures of the expansion in Round Rock...Mike, I was in Round Rock last July...I don't even recognize it from the photos I have been sent since then!!! So, I am simple...Very simple...But, then again my father always taught me that investing was doing some research...Those that are waiting for the numbers better be ready to hit that BUY DELL button quickly...I've written already a number of times that last year was a series of "conflicts" for DELL....IMO the first two quarters we sacrificed a few pennies to kill CPQ's direct move into the market...And, I received confirmation on this...The last two we already know from the media and the analysts' who talked trash when nothing was really wrong at DELL...Controlling that earthquake and Y2K situation was brutally punishing to our company...Yet, what long range was wrong? Nothing...As a matter of fact I believe those two quarters could just be their greatest feats ever...Imagine all these employees that DELL has been hiring and paying for them in their training...Coupling this while all the rest of the RMBS and INTC flops were occurring...DELL's model IMO was tested to the extreme last year...This year barring another landmine...Well, Mike, we're ready for a "SUPER" year...

Best, kemble
