I think the storage initiatives are an example of ways that SUNW can continue to develop mindshare without fighting a costly processor battle which has marginal benefit to customers. But they need to stay competitive. a 50% cost differential is just too big to ignore and they need to fix it.

The volatility in SUNW's price, in my opinion, has little to do with Sun Microsystems and its competitive position ...

... it is the ongoing state of the stock market ... if SUNW's absolutely fabulous revenues and earnings announced in April did not cause the price to appreciate as it would normally have done ... might all of you even consider that it might be caused by overall market conditions ... and if we are in the early stages of a secular bear, as I believe we are, it is not going to get better soon.
