It is, of course, a moral question. It is also a question where no really satisfactory answer. The idea of destroying what would become human is repugnant. The idea of forcing a woman to bear a child she does not want is also repugnant. There is no fully satisfactory compromise; legal abortion within the first trimester seems to me the least of the available evils.

In principle, I agree. "Personhood" is also a good term. Not much action here, but having a helluva debate on the George W. Bush thread.
