Justa,
Thank you for the comments.

Warning: long and rambling at times; a bit of a rant; probably a lot of bad spelling.

You know I'm sitting here thinking, who gives a rat's a## about the beta of portfolio 1 or 2 or whatever? (Deliberate attempts to lie aside.) The real issue is where the heck will this market be over the coming period of the next 6 to 24 months? And, will my capital be preserved or not? And also, will I get to make a nickle or two on a counter-trend rally or do I get sucked back in? Do you think Maria-babe is going to try to teach me how bear markets run? Do you really think she, or anyone else will do that?

I don't think Rill or Kirk is going to help me on these scores. Eh? Rill is simply effete. And to me, the suite101 sight is simply (IMO) a commercial enterprise first and any so-called education to joe lunch bucket is purely a secondary product. Brinker, on the other hand is providing a service--he has all the corvettes he wants; he does not need to do what he does to maintain an upper-middle class life-style.

Maybe Brinker is wrong about the market. His reasoning works too well for me, though. It's like a jig saw puzzle--he points to pieces and I get the chance to pick them up and see if they fit. Well, they do almost every time.

I've seen the puzzle pieces Rill and etc. point to and they are either mush or just don't make sense.

Another fraud that has been attempted in this axe grinding is to 'prove' Brinker wrong at this point in the devloping bear.

Yeah, it matters to me that he has been right about his call so far. Remember, the call was on the S&P and he hit a bull's eye so far. So what if he couldn't predict the Naz final blow off? He never said he was doing the Naz market top. Furthermore, he said over and over, 'this process will take a long time (6 months or much longer) to play out.'

Do I care about the Naz final blow off? Let's see: I "lost" another 25% on top of the 1600% I made off of JDSU, for example, because I got out soon after Brinker made the market call. Do I care about that 25%? Heck no. Why do I not care? Because I slept well (thank you Bob!) and, because 12 or 16 months from now, 95% of those who got to "enjoy" the extra paper "profits" will have lost mightily.

They'll be really hurting, especially if they do what most do and sell out at the market bottom. (Who pointed me to that phenomenon? Who said, "go read up on the markets; do your own education"? The monkey axe grinders? Don't make me laugh!

And, me at the market bottom? I reckon I won't even remember the final blow off. I'll be too busy fretting what to do with my cash. (And whatever more I made on a counter-trend rally or two.) See, the point here is that I got educated to the mania that takes place at market tops. Brinker began talking about that long before the top. So, I was prepared. I read up on the subject too. 'Educate yourself,' he said.

If Brinker is willing to share his knowledge with a guy like me....The absolutely best thing he has done for me is NOT any of the market calls, actually. I was stunned, years ago, to hear some guy on a distant radio station in the States--Brinker--tell ME I could take control of my financial future and I could do it myself. That's the most important thing. The second is to point out shark bait. Know one here knows--I do, though--all the shark attacks I completely avoided because he offered up the concept and related details. I have a buddy, Tom, who doesn't even listen, yet when his bank told him how great it would be to get a second mortgage and buy into the bubblonian market, he asked for advice. I gave him my argument and he, with some reluctance, stayed away from that shark attack. Do you think his bank gives a darn about Tom and his family?

(Brinker pointing to market inflection points is cool too, don't get me wrong.) If he can share his knowlege and help me get an education, then I am simply grateful. All I can really say in the end is, thank you.

So, what's Rill done for me lately? Eh?

I do have a complaint, though. I think the Chicago Bulls theme music should be changed. Isn't there a team calld the Bears somewhere?

With all good wishes,
David Todtman
