Point taken, however... ...the 8,000-employee layoff at CPQ down in Houston involved -- correct me if I'm wrong, she_x and mr_x -- highly educated, specialized and therefore "non-entrepreneurial" human beings that faced tremendous hardships if forced to relocate geographically, for example ... It involves much more than unskilled laborers, you know that (I'm NOT referring to loggers as unskilled, immediate clarification). Sigh. I struggle getting past the human costs of such an economy with which we live. Yeah, okay, I'm sensitive. LOL!!!! Some might find that statement hugely funny. I do, also, to a degree. This "tough love" thing ... I don't know, Scott. It doesn't work for so many. Don't wanna yank kids (that likely, though, they shouldn't have had in the first place if they had any intelligence about how they would support them for 20+ years considering such an "iffy" long-term career/work environment) ... Sigh. The enormity of the whole fabric of society overwhelms me ... especially if I daytrade or get all bent out of shape over my own little portfolios [<g> but true.] I can only tolerate thinking about "x" many things all at once. I find short-term investing ratchets up my stress level hugely. Wonderful to meet you and all fellow attendees at PP as well.
