I thought the QCOM debacle wasn't because of Asian slowdown but China not subsidizing?

Regardless of economy and Fed the withdrawl of liquidity is the number one damper in my opinion... and there is a slowdown in progress even if its not showing up in the aggregate numbers.

Yesterday I was at a mall and asked counter clerks the level of activity they see. From Zales to Borders to Sears to the resturant manager.. things have slowed down. Not a one thought the consumer was exhuberent. I think America is tapped out again or its trending in that direction. Sure some have discretionary money but most have been whacked in their IRA's, had to tighten their belt on bidding and pricing, or find themselves living day to day as temps or just in time hiring/firing policies.

This is a stock picking market.. and traders are smarter and less likely to run a stock into the ionosphere... or to Mars. If they do it won't last long.. RMBS should be interesting to watch for example.
