I did not know Edwarda and feel that this was my loss. I wonder about posting here since there are many great recipe sites. Is it just ego? Still make a cauliflower soup Crock posted here and never made any soup from something on a fancy site.

So for whatever reason here is one more of life's simple pleasures. Probably not new, but many people that would like it, never have done it.

If you grow hot peppers, or just like them and buy them here is something easy, with an elegant look, depending on how far down the chain you are.

Take halapenos, core to remove seeds and cut into circles. Put on slice of bread and toast on high in toaster oven. Put butter on the toast when "done" and reduce toaster oven to half power and toast again. Cut into 4 or more pieces or eat the whole thing.

Once again, have no idea of how this goes over with Anglos but among certain ethnic groups, or hot pepper lovers, it gets raves. And what is amazing is it is no work.

This is a taste, not a macho, thing. Would not do it with red hot peppers or Habaneros etc. Use something hot but not fully developed.
