Bombardier Continues Award-Winning Safe Boating
Leadership this Summer

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--JUNE 27, 2000--As the 1999 winner of the Canadian Safe Boating
Council award for "Industry Leadership In Boating Safety", and the
recipient of the Canadian Coast Guard's "Boating Safety 2000"
certificate, Bombardier Recreational Products announces its
continued participation in a Watercraft Safety Program to
encourage safe summer fun and environmentally-friendly boating on
our nation's waterways. The Canadian manufacturer of Sea-Doo(R)
personal watercraft and sport boats is a long standing champion of
safe and responsible family boating.

"Since the market introduction of our first Sea-Doo watercraft in
1988, we have put the importance of water sports and pleasure
boating safety hand in hand with the quality, reliability and
safety of our marine products," said Benoit Lafortune, Vice
President, Sales and Communications. "That's why we have
partnered with provincial safety and enforcement agencies to
deliver safety education and environmental responsibility messages
to the six million Canadians who will go boating this summer."

To highlight its dedication to boating safety, Bombardier
Recreational Products is participating in the official launch of
the "Tournee Sea-Doo(R) Energie" in Quebec in partnership with the
LifeSaving Society. In this award-winning program, two
experienced boating safety teams will visit marinas, personal
watercraft rides, authorized Sea-Doo dealers and special events
throughout Quebec to champion zero tolerance for drinking and
boating, and other key water safety and environment messages.
They will also promote the urgency of getting trained this summer
and acquiring the new "Pleasure Craft Operator Card", introduced
by the Canadian Coast Guard last year.

Bombardier Recreational Products is also pleased to cornerstone
its Watercraft Safety Program with exclusive boating industry
benchmarks for safety and the environment.

The new Sea-Doo Learning Key(TM) lanyard, found on both the GTX(1)
DI and RX (TM) DI models, enables first-time riders, less
experienced riders and rental operators to limit the speed of
their Sea-Doo watercraft to approximately 56 km/h (35 mph) and to
learn how to operate them, while gaining needed confidence and
experience.

Bombardier also continues to lead the way by pioneering
environmentally friendly innovations. For the 2000 model year,
new Orbital* Direct Injection technology, which reduces
hydrocarbon emissions by as much as 75 %, joins the Rotax(R) Fuel
Injection (RFI) system introduced two years ago. Meanwhile,
Bombardier's break-through D-Sea-Bel(TM) sound reduction system is
standard on all 2000 Sea-Doo models, resulting in a 50 % quieter
ride.

Bombardier Recreational Products designs, develops, builds,
distributes and markets Ski-Doo(R) and Lynx(R) snowmobiles,
snowgrooming equipment and multi-purpose tracked vehicles,
Sea-Doo(R) watercraft and sport boats, Bombardier all-terrain
vehicles and Bombardier NV(TM) neighborhood vehicles.
Snowmobiles, ATV, watercraft and some sport boats are powered by
Rotax(R) engines that are designed and built by Bombardier-Rotax
GmbH which also builds motors for motorcycles and scooters.
