I'll take the easy way out and say that Amazon won't always have to market heavily to keep
and grow revenue. I know that's maybe not helpful, but I see them becoming a convenient
answer to the "I want to buy such-and-such now, and want to buy it over the web, so I
browse over to..."

Talk about the easy way out? :-) Please notice that McDonalds advertises all the time, Coke, Pepsie, Sears, Wal-mart, Proctor and Gamble for all their products, Penneys, Walgreens, Target, Kmart, Barnes and Noble, Lowes, Compaq, Dell, Gateway, Sony, Cannon, Toys R Us, Office Max, Office Depot, Staples, etc. You are saying Amazon will keep and grow their revenue without advertising heavily but the above few relatively know names need to advertise?

There's no reason they can't offer close-out items as impulse purchases at their own virtual
check-out line. The little ad that shows one or two specials on the checkout web page
perhaps?


The customers are not going to use the one click patent?

Yes but not with their current product mix.
