Dear Gary: I agree, my "bedside manner" could have been improved upon. To be honest, I follow many stocks and am usually in a hurry so dont always think through the most polite response. Not meant to be hurtful though, and if I were, I apologize.
The BEST arguement IMHO AGAINST Purchase is similar to your last sentence. Why should an ARBITRARY life be assigned to Goodwill (if it is to be set up) and WHY should Goodwill even be set up if you are merely merging two companies equally between the shareholders. That is not a SALE in the truest sense of the word as everyone is merely getting their proportional stock rights and no better or worse than before. The VALUE or lack thereof of the merger is not in the PAST transactions but what occurs in the future. The SYNERGIES of the merger determine the worth AFTER the process is complete. JDN

Hi Gary. What do you think about the spread between NT and CSCO widening?

Do you think the market is finally coming around to understanding what is going on in the networking industry?

Hope you have some position on NT and lighten up on CSCO.
