Morning Depy:

I use the "highest number" to reflect the greatest open interest. Dont forget that the max open nterest changes with time and reflects stock/market sentiment, so "your mileage may vary". An extreme case in point is rmbs. There was no way to factor in the (literally) last minute news that propelled the stock up 26 points on options expiration friday which put me way into the money and caused me to "lose" an additional 20 points of profit on 6000 shares (that was painful) all on a single day. But that was a freak occurance. With stocks like rmbs, it is probably better to sell the cc about two weeks or maybe a little less before options expiration so to get a better feel for the stock and the market. I try not to be greedy, since in most cases I want to retain the stock.

Regards,

David
