Hey, Coach, welcome to Q territory. Sounds like you'll be good company for the show.

If the Telson products are successful for Nokia, Nokia would be foolish not to press ahead with going to all Q chips. Since QCOM's total focus is on building more and more capable chips, why would a company want to invest all they money in chip design and production and then try to sell its inferior product. I would be paying QCOM extra to get first dibs on the chips. On the other hand this may be the first step of Nokia going the way of many others and outsourcing production. Why build it yourself, if someone else can do it for you at a reasonable cost - focus on design and marketing and infrastructure.

Assuming that the economy stays strong, this could be another big season for wireless. Christmas is big - but what about the off to college crowd - especially with the long disance included (free call to Dad to send more money). I can remember the old days of waiting to get on a campus phone to try to get a date. Rooms weren't wired. Use the campus phones or the pay phones. I think as many as 70-80 % of the new freshmen likely to get a wireless phone. Nokia may make the Christmas rush - but they will miss the back to school push. Hope Kyocera is there in time.

Question is if the students are smart enough to see through the ATT wireless BS and go CDMA.

You trust. I hope. I'd give anything to see QCOM get back into the 80's and 90's this week or next. It sure isn't doing anything this morn.
