In actuality, Brazil is today AMPS, TDMA, & CDMA (in that order). The predominant digital technology is TDMA.

Thank you. I thought Brazil was mostly CDMA and thus the announcement on CNBC that Brazil was going to adopt 1800 MHz GSM didn't make sense to me. Why start GSM now?
