Yes, Mike, the Internet portal is where there is going to be much about something. Did you check out this week's Business Week article on the Vivendi deal? It seems that Messier has his sights on the Internet portal, leading to his deal with Vodaphone where he formed his Vizzavi portal sight. It seems that Messier believes in owning the portal & pipes as well as content. He & Vivendi is something to watch. Have you caught a glimpse of MSFT's new network appliance that immediately goes to MSN's website when you turn it on? MSFT also offers substantial discounts on their PC if the purchase also includes a few years's subscription to MSN. In my view, while the carriers will focus on ACCESS, that value will be "fine-tuned" by the ISPs to maximize the value of that ACCESS by tailoring such ACCESS according to consumer preferences, which is a business, IMHO, that the carriers are happy to leave to the marketers and content providers.
