TIVO - I'm taking the small profit on about 50% of the position in the 29-30ish range.

How true.

Nice news reversal. That is one basic short signal, needs to close in the red, however.

Network Peripherals sees Q2 revs shortfall
FREMONT, Calif., June 26 (Reuters) - Communications products maker Network Peripherals Inc. (NasdaqNM:NPIX - news) on Monday warned of lower-than-expected second-quarter revenues due to problems with one of its software products.

Network Peripherals said it expects second-quarter sales to be less than $1 million versus analysts' forecasts of about $5.6 million.

``We believe these technical issues have been resolved, although too late in the quarter to mitigate the revenue shortfall,'' said Chief Executive Bill Rosenberger.

Network Peripherals cited new advanced software features that had been incorporated into an earlier software release. The new software proved to be unstable in certain situations, affecting its business with original equipment manufacturers and lowering restocking orders.

The company said it thinks it has resolved the software instability problems.

Network Peripherals also unveiled plans to repurchase up to an additional one million common shares. The new buyback plan is in addition to a programme announced in April to repurchase one million shares.

Company shares ended down 5/8 at 16-1/2 on Nasdaq. The announcement came after the market closed. Network Peripherals supplies Layer 3 Ethernet switches sold to original equipment manufacturers.
