The many user you mention don't get better results, they just accept what they get as normative. Comparisons to the American auto industry of 30 years ago are very relevant here. Compared to today, the cars of that period fared very poorly in quality comparisons. Nonetheless, people bought them as they were perceived as the only option. This changed ;-) . Change is good.

Windows has done more to create a negative perception of computing systems reliability than anything I've ever seen. It's refreshing at this point in history that users are gaining a clearer understanding as to where the problem really lies.

MS products affirm the observation "To ignore the good and cultivate the mediocre is an American cultural imperative".
