Well....short term Cap Gains are based a little on what your W2 says. STCG are at your top marginal rate plus state taxes. So if you are making good coin at your job and are in a 39% bracket for fed, then you add in the state you are almost right on the money. Then add commission. I agree with you though that it's a big cut.

What we need is no cap gain tax at all!
