BUT, in the same vein, Yahoo, kicked INKT out as its search engine! Now, where does that leave GNET? Must be way ahead of the heap! siliconinvestor.com Yahoo replaces Inktomi with Google for most searches NEW YORK, June 26 (Reuters) - Yahoo Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO) said on Monday that privately held search engine Google Inc. will perform its Web searches, replacing Inktomi Corp. (NASDAQ: INKT), which counted Yahoo as one of its best known clients. Yahoo said it would continue to use Inktomi's search services on corporate systems that use Yahoo as a home page, as well as on Yahoo's own corporate system. Inktomi officials were not immediately available for comment. Shares of Inktomi fell 21-1/8 to 119-1/4 on Nasdaq on Monday. Yahoo fell 2-9/16 to 122-3/4. The change will not reduce Inktomi's earnings, according to a source close to the company, who declined to comment on the impact on revenues. Inktomi has more than 50 percent of the search market, and while Yahoo was not its largest customer, it was one of its first customers. Yahoo said it chose Google, which searches the Internet by sites users prefer, "because they share our strong consumer focus."

levy, at least Go2net was a couple of months faster than yahoo with it's offering of a portal. Here is another interesting player in the market. It offers plug-in-portals, plug-in-email, -search and -discussion threads. everyone.net coolpets is using everyone.net including threads. coolpets.net I hope Go2net will offer a plug-in version of SI technology. It is the best in the market. Compare it to the Ultraseek search engine which is used by corporate intranets. Why not adding a professional discussion board? Greg Badros seems to be a very powerful mind. Excellent to have him on the team. Regards, Pareto
