dramreview was savaged by the ant-RMBS posters here 6 weeks back; that's why I found the test to be of interest.

I agree - it is good to see timing measurements done in this way. The results are much more explicit than anything deduced from software timing.

However, when the Rambus memory controller is integrated into the CPU one might expect much lower latency, as the data does not then have to be clocked into a bridge chip. Also, the results include the effects of different chipset designs from different manufacturers.
