<<One possible approach for Rambus during negotiations with Micron for SDRAM/DDR royalties would be to trade off some aspect of its anticipated financial package for guaranteed RDRAM production dates and volumes.>>

pomps: You have just proposed the best business solution. Not bad for a lawyer <ggg>.

<<Poeple who feel public companies should be managed otherwise should sell their stock and buy a dog.>>

LOL!! ...and call him pomps, or sander, or pompsander (how did you ever get that name)?

Correct, It's not so important if Rambus is liked or not. I want my share value maximized. That means collecting on DDR and sram ASAP (I know we only were awarded the patents last december). Those patents make rambus a stand only GORILLA and I want to see rambus acting that way.

However, it would be a very interesting business decision by Micron if they do not, in fact, ever ramp RDRAM.

I don't see that any of Steve Appletons (micron ceo) decisions on rambus are based on good business practise. His decisions seem to be purely egocentric. He stands by while samsung and other grab the whole rambus market even after recieveing a 500 million infusion from intel. He keeps Micron busy making and developing ddr for a non-exsitent market while others reap huge margins on the sell of Rdram. He partners with VIA on pc133 whom intel is sueing on that issue, Risky. He appears to be egocentric, he's not a team player, When the dust settles and investors see that he has been on a personal cursade instead making sound business decision, maybe will be rid of him.

Pomp, Re: People who feel public companies should be managed otherwise should sell their stock and buy a dog.

Actually, I believe in a more balanced approach, holding equities...including Rambus...AND a dog.

Works for me <gg>. dmf
