Wharfedale is still active in the speaker industry, but the product mix has been weighted toward two-way bookshelf minimonitors. <shiver> Yeah, that's the word they use.

If you want major bass - the folks to talk to are the car audio guys. <shiver again> "Let's not and say we did."

Hee hee. Yah. The ears worked then, too. Amazing. Dash lived near a golf course? And his mum and dad were members, and one day she came home, in the summer, and told us she was tired of telling us about the stereo bein too loud.

"It wasn't that loud."

"I heard it on the first green."

"Uh."

The first green, we knew was in the diagonally opposite corner of the course. Literally, the farthest point, up next to the clubhouse.

We immediately assumed, uhm she had to be ~ we're no dummies at this stuff ~ she had to be lying. Bold face lie. Parent lie. Kind of crap they pull.

"There is NO WAY you could hear it up there, even if it WAS loud."

(I always loved this woman, my aunt.)

She had two words for us:

"David Crosby."

Uh oh.

Reminds me of the time I hotwired the dinko stereo in my room into my Fender Bassman git-tar amplifier and summarily cranked it. Stuff was falling off the shelves downstairs.

hee hee... we used to do the same thing with our Ampeg and Fender amps... hendrix, zeppelin, floyd... we provided muzak for the entire neighbourhood...
