Estephen:
Samsung is the leading producer of certified high-quality Rambus DRAMs with over 80% market share. The Company is producing three million units a month and has passed a milestone ten-millionth unit shipped
I am willing to make my first estimate for RMBS earnings covering APR-JUN quarter. Samsung 7 M, Toshiba 4 M, all others 1 M totaling 12 M 128 Mb RDRAM chips at $30 each or $ 500 M in sales times 1.5% royalty rate. Add 1% of $ 500 M in Toshiba and Hitachi non RDRAM sales for the quarter. The sum of these two revenue sources is about $ 12.5 M or $0.12 per share. I think the recent licensing payments from Hitachi and Toshiba are counted in the quarter reported in July not Oct so that $0.12 is a good ball park to start with for earnings estimate. RMBS for the last 2 to 3 years has been balancing expenses and taxes against revenues from licensing fees. I expect this assumption to be valid to a large degree.
