--3:46 pm Four Dow stocks hit new lows
Despite the 138-point rally in the Dow Industrials ($INDU: news, msgs), no less than four of its
components have made new 52-week lows. AT&T (A: news, msgs) hit an intraday low of 32 1/2,
surpassing the June 15 low of 33 1/4 (see 12:33 item). Dupont's stock (DD: news, msgs) hit 45 earlier
in the session, passing the 45 1/16 low set on Mar. 13. New lows are seemingly old hat at Honeywell
(HON: news, msgs) and International Paper (IP: news, msgs). Honeywell dipped to as low as 33 1/2
and IP slipped to 29 11/16. Meanwhile, none of the components have touched new highs.
