kaka: Good research. I knew you will come up with the figs. one of these days. I figured a long time ago that Dell is splitting the profits 40-60 to executives and shareholders. A 25-75 would have been a more reasonable figure. ESOPs are complex. Once the formulas are set it is hard to change. But we have seen enough examples where managements changed them to benefit to themselves. The maturity of this management will be exhibited when and if they make timely corrections. I think there are signs in the 1Q earnings. In the long run the 25-75 or 30-70 formula will turn out better for management also. I hope Dell opens a dialogue with knowledgeble shareholders on this topic, so that ESOP can be even made better for everybody.

Kaka,
Hi!!

Drawing talent may be the single most important lure of the company and of the long term shareholder...Keeping them is another...I believe they have argued this is the strongest case they have for the above...I believe Michael discusses this in his book...

Best, Kemble

Kaka-Thanks for opening up this scheme to the SI folks-it certainly does back up sime views I have always held about CEO's,in the main, screwing the stockholders for their own personal agendas.MSD most likely selling his quarter ending batch today-big sells following big buys -probably from GS.
