I recently brought home a new Maria Muldaur CD. She's aged remarkably well. She sounds like a torch singer on this record. Her voice has gotten kind of boozy, but it sounds good accompanied by the band she has with her. Lots of bass, sax and vibes. She does "Gee Baby, Ain't I Good to You" and "It Ain't the Meat, It's the Motion" and other tunes along those lines. Her voice isn't as sweet as when "Midnight at the Oasis" (have that record too) was a hit, but it's just as nice to listen to. I also have an old Kweskin Jug Band record that features a young singer named Maria D'Amato. It's almost like having a chronicle of somebody's life here.

YOu're right-- 33 1/3-- don't know where I got 78s... never was good with numbers. Sandy Nelson-- was he the one who did Wipeout?? Songs of our past loves-- don't they have most incredible evocative power... I Got You Babe--- Mike, the great high school love- (Mr Hull's Drive In himself) We went together long enough to then change to Cherish my freshmen year of college before he dumped me. Donny- April, Come She Will- Donny died several years ago and I always think of him when I hear this song. Bobby Dee Henson- Time is on My SIde he also happened to be Mike's cousin- dated him first- he was SUCH a creep. MOon River-- CHristy B. -my very first kiss ever Ricky--my bad boy- Whiter Shade of Pale ooo- my parents hated this guy. That song has always carried overtones for me-- mysterious, sensual ones- as I played with FIRE... at least it seemed like it to me.
