mact, nice analysis, i too remember the days of irrational exuberance where we all felt invincible b/c of our beloved softbank, the only questions that we were asking was which tropical island to buy and when to all finally meet in person rather on the thread, even back then, you had the foresight to predict the demise of softbank, and ur right, it wasnt popular, it seems to me that b2c is gone forever, amazon, which imo epitomizes the entire b2c sector is trading at its 52 week low with no relief in sight, many predict that the b2c shakeout is just beginning, b2b isnt much better, and ive pulled all remaining money from b2b, as far as incubators go, mrvc looks like they have the right idea and certainly all the momentum which is to have a core business as well as incubating backbone and infrastructure, if softbank is to turn around masa needs to refocus and concentrate on the backbone of the internet, make products and make money, jmho

You will find that CMGI is not up much from its low. The fact is that people think that the possible highly profitable spaces are filled so new IPOS don't have much of a future. In any case this must be less true of Japan than of the U.S.
