This looks like a strange deal to me. Is it possible that Rambus offered them a deal that was cheaper than litigation would've costed? Plus, they get no more harassment from Rambus starting in 2001? This deal just doesn't make any sense to me." Maybe Rambus is planning to use this settlement, even if it is a short one, as leverage to settle with other companies. Or maybe their nine lives are almost accounted for.
