Velocity is a resource hog The newly added streaming quotes are a nice touch but the program is so inefficient that a Watchlist with less than 20 active symbols will utilize 100% of the resources of a 500 MHz PIII with 128 MB ram. I thought the ZoneAlarm firewall was a resource hog but in comparison to Velocity which has a full order of magnitude more resource usage it is merely a piglet. I also use QCharts (on another identical PC) which covers many more streaming quotes than Velocity and it appears to use about 20% of the resources that Velocity uses. It is obvious to me that Velocity has exceeded the useful capabilities of the programming language and the program must be rewritten in a more efficient language. The only way that will happen is if all users complain to Schwab. If you use Velocity then do us all a favor and voice your concerns via the "Feedback" e-mail on the Schwab website.
