After ten years it would be hard tellin' what's growin' in there, but my guess is at minimum you have a few dustbunnies runnin' around...

You might try a can of compressed air and blow some thru the slots. It may be just a dirty laser head...

Take the cover off your PC and do the same while you are at it...you will be surprised.

Any Radio Shack, electronics store, or photography shop will have the pressurized air duster products. Follow the directions.

Just a thought.
