Casaubon, I have a very close friend who is a respectable Biotech Professor and head of a researchers team in the field of cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC, and I learned a thing or two about the real research and pure stock hype and GREED.

As a result of such hype I was lured in hopping to put my terminally ill father on a test program which I hoped may prolong his life, only to find out that the BioTech company was not interested because my father age and the advanced stage of the cancer, resulting in the possibility that he may "destroy" their statistics.

I do not want to go forth on this painful experience but IMHO many Biotech Cieftains are no better than Mother F*^&^ and horse traders that you have also with the big drug companies.

So much for those companies, their only motive is GREED not science. Science is done in lots of other places but not those F*^&*^% start ups who do nothing more than steal a concept and then commercialize it.

Later I found out that the rumor of cure was false and they are very early in clinical trials and the stock droped $20 or $30

So please do not post to me about the greatness of Biotech companies........ it is to personal and to painful!!!! (I know you work for one)

Thank you
Haim

The drugs with poor outcomes and side effects became more common only with the recent fasttrack policy at the FDA since many patients couldn't wait for breakthroughs in AIDs, cancers, etc.

Casaubon, not all is the truth about the biotech and pharma.
Truth, innovative drugs, particulary useful in immunological diseases, and viral infections( like monoclonal)
Only this one, designed against a protein can be less error prone.

Not truth,<old compounds pulled from the shelves>.
If you have many years of experience with the drugs,I think, you agree with me, that free side effect drug...
does not exist and only after 3 years of statistics,we can say if the drug is safe in use or not.
How many old drugs, like Zocor,Tylenol,Tagamet,Diabeta are on the shelf....and how many of the recent ones were removed from the shelves.
