Canadian Business magazine says in its July 10 issue that Data Mirror Corp. looks
like an attractive pick in the Canadian technology sector. Writer Paul Kahlia notes
that DataMirror, based in the Toronto suburb of Markham, specializes in software
that allows companies to integrate incompatible databases. It is Canada's
fastest-growing software company, with revenue for its latest quarter up 40 per
cent over the previous year. Analysts predict the company will soon be profitable.
The kicker, however, is its 27-per-cent stake in PointBase Inc. of Mountain
View, Calif. That company is expected to launch an initial public offering on the
Nasdaq market by the first quarter of 2001, and it should be a doozy. PointBase
has developed a Java-based tool for handling large amounts of data on hand-held
wireless devices and Internet appliances. PointBase makes DataMirror a kind of
embedded systems play, which makes it especially attractive.

Just wait until the rest of the world wakes up to what we
and Canadian Business know so clearly.

Jay
