I just spent fifteen minutes (12:51-13:06) following VLNC trades and thought some of you might be interested in the following: (1) Shares traded went from 299,000 - 352,400, which I believe most of you would consider considerable volume for a fifteen minute tranche. (2) In the movement of 53,400 shares there were seven significant trades - 5,000, 25,000, 1,500, 5,000, 5,000, 5,000, 5,000. (3) From what I saw the tic went + - + - throughout, which to me was an indication of shorts dumping shares immediately after a decrease of 1/16 on sale of 100 shares. (4) Despite the movement of shares (which in just a few minutes jumped the daily average from 712 to 803 shares per trade), the stock was sold throughout at 18 11/16 (usually at 600 bid) or 18 3/4 (usually at 10 ask), or down 1/4 for the day. Conclusion: there are some slick characters playing with this stock. Comments appreciated.
