Just wrote calls on part of CEGE position I have left in IRA account. Sold Jan35 for $7.50. I don't like covered call writing
because I think that there are other hedging strategies that offer similar risk and are more efficient but don't have a choice in
my IRA. Almost never do CC in my trading account.

I don't have enough shares of CEGE to write covered calls, but I was thinking about buying some more and then writing a covered call due to high prices for CEGE options. What other strategies do you normally use that you think are more efficient? I might not be able to use them. I can sell covered calls and buy calls and puts but I can't sell naked calls and puts.

Tim

Ken,

I agree. I have gravitated to covered calls as an option strategy for my IRA since you can't use margin in an IRA.

Better strategies exist if you are allowed to use margin.

Nice capture on the premium.
