I tend to agree. One of the reasons for the success of i-mode is its use of a sub set of standard HTML. That's a big reason why there are so may Web sites that can be accessed by i-mode. Web site developers have been complaining that what they don't need is yet another protocol just for cell phones. One of the strengths of the Web is use of standard HTML. Write a Web page just once in standard HTML, it's up to the browsing software to figure out how to display it on your access device. Web site designers don't want to have to make a page for standard Web browsers, then redo the page for PDA's, then do it again for cell phones, using different protocols each time.
