I suspect Intel has higher speed versions ready to go but with tight fab capacity they won't intro into the server market what they can't provide in volume.


750 or 800 is due sometime this summer. Goes to show you that clock speed is not all there is (by far). Servers built with Xeons are cleaning up in price/performance. Itanium should continue the price/performance advantage.

Of course, why use scarce FAB capacity for fast expensive chips when you can use it for slow cheap ones.
