Yup, politicians pandering is a serious flaw in the system. Although Texas law, with its rigid oversight, strips the governor of much of his ability to pander.

Speaking of "arbitrary justice", Janet has decided that WCOM/FON merger isn't good for us.

WorldCom (WCOM) 40 1/2 +3: The U.S. Department of Justice advised WorldCom this morning that it intends to file suit to block its $129 billion merger with Sprint (FON 57 3/8 -2 3/16).
