I think that much of the criticism of the Yahoo search engine is in regards to the output format. The collecting and filtering of the engine is fine, but the presentation format is maddening.

I think there is also a political side to this switch for Yahoo! One of there Board members is either an executive of Google or is also on the Board of Google. INKT's contract expires July 1 and since they are being switched to Yahoo's corporate search deal, I am sure there was pressure from the Board to give Google the consumer search action. The corporate business is the higher growth area anyway and consumer search engine revenue is stagnant with an over- abundance of competition.
The corporate Yahoo! business will more than replace the search engine stuff.
