"Terribly flawed" is an overgeneralized statement built completely on your assumption. One in which you cannot defend in an objective factual way. You believe in this assumption so completely that it can only be described as "religious faith". Even if every person ever executed were shown to be guilty of their crime, it wouldn't assuage you from the mental model you've completely locked yourself into.
