TA: what is your feeling as to the guidance that we are likely to get after July 7 when earnings season is on, from the various companies: ie what will be their guidance for the following 6 months or 12 months.

As it should be obvious, my forte is technical analysis. I do supplement my TA with some fundamental and sentiment analysis. I mainly trade and or invest via the technicals. Let me think about your question to determine if I am qualified to even try to answer you...<g>

Meanwhile...any and all fundamentalist that populate this thread feel free to chime in...<g>

Regards,
LG

Thoughts on earnings season future earnings guidance...

Semis and semi equip guide up (up cycle, strong world economy)

Dot-coms guide up (they know they have to!)

Those selling to dot-coms guide down, as internet companies cut spending in a desperate attempt for profits and less vc money flows into sector. Some names:

Hardware: SUNW (dot in dot bomb)<g>,FDRY,CSCO
Software: ORCL
Advertising: YHOO,CNET,tv and radio networks

Telecom equipment including optical and wireless will be interesting to watch. Will higher interest rates \ lower confidence pull down capital investment or will demand growth win out? Are HLIT troubles a sign of things to come?

Oil and gas sector guides way up (higher prices look like they are here to stay)
