I know that this is speculation.

We need a production version to show it either way but, I find it telling when Intel stated that to get the real performance of Williamette, SSE2 is required. And that means recoding at the very least. Sort of the K6-2 situation of 1998 with 3D-Now. It also proves that, in general, two FP execution units are better than one. At least, it shows that Intel needs at least one more silicon respin of Willie.
