Paul, The AMDroids and Alpha-Lovers keep ignoring the fact that Merced/ITanium, at 733 MHz, will be competitive - OR FASTER - than their SUN/COMPAQ/HP competitors. Do you think that the server market will be as segmented as the PC market? My opinion is that it might not, even though specialized interests (Alpha,IBM,SUN) would want it ot be? The customer base in server markets is more informed of their choices. On the other hand same can't be said on the consumer side of PCs which ranges from very informed to minimally informed, which causes more segmentation. Mula
