I think it was only about 20,000-30,000 shares. We were just over 300,000 when it went under 41. I had a feeling that the MMs were going to do that so I put an order in at 40 1/4. (Of course, that is to say nothing about my earlier purchases at 43 and 42.) I think that is the only way that anyone could have been filled at a price near the bottom. The bid and ask prices were behind the actual trades so couldn't be relied on at all. I know there was a total of approximately 50,000 shares transacted after we got to 41. Some of this volume was on the bounce. The number of shares actually changing hands below 40 had to be very, very small. We probably got rid of some limit sell orders (stop loss) around 40 so maybe the bounce will continue tomorrow. We should also get some help from end of quarter window dressing. Everyone is expecting no action by the Fed so that's probably a non-event. Maybe the market will even start down when that is announced. I think that we will rally back on the close however. At least I hope so.
