RE:"It appears AMD is beginning to execute this strategy. Sweet."

All they need is chipsets and motherboards...
All Intel needs is Willy.
So AMD has another 3 months minimum to put on the squeeze play...

Re: "The former pressures Intel to raise Celeron II speeds, cannibalizing the heart of the P3 speed-grade distribution if they do, losing Value marketshare if they don't."

I foresee Intel raising Celeron FSB speeds to 100Mhz once the new 815 chipset is established at 133MHz FSB. It only makes sense.

Re: "The latter pressures Intel to raise P3 speeds, which forces them to accept poor yields if they do"

How do you figure this will effect yields?

Doug <Now AMD has two weapons. Duron speed increases AND Tbird speed increases.>

Remember how quickly Athlon "classic" was ramped up. It seemed like Gateway increased the $1,299 systems 50Mhz every month. My guess is they will do the same with T-Bird. Look for the 750 to disappear (at least off GTW) in a month, when 1.1Ghz is released. Sa-weeet!
