Subject:Findings Of Store Visit

I visited the Sacramento A&F today. The store was just as busy as any other store in the mall. Only about 1/2 of the store had merchandise available for sale.

Towards the back of the store, I saw a lot of boxes with A&F workers pulling out merchandise out of. They would not let me go back to the back to check out the BTS line.

I spoke to a "knowledgeable employee" there that I recognized from college. I asked her about the new line. She responded that the style of the new line will be returning to the "original" A&F. It will be more "preppy" and less "rugby". Specific examples she mentioned were no more tattered shorts or hats. She was very excited about the girls' sweaters and the guys' jackets. She thought they would be huge movers. She was kinda upset because she would no longer be allowed to go to work looking like she just rolled out of bed (no hats on employees either).

She stated that over the next week that the sales items in the store will be moved to the back and the BTS line will take its place at the front of the store.

She also spoke very highly of the Hollister concept. She said that she the Hollister store will be set up similiarly to A&F stores having three rooms. She said that rumor has it that the first room from the entrance will not have any merchandise in it. She confirmed the cat, bird and lounging employees rumors.

Overall she was very happy with the A&F upper management and the changes they are making.
