Moreover, you know perfectly well that Jacobs is a smart man who has already conceded that QCOM needs TDMA/GSM IPRs to be competitive in the 3G chipset market so what do you expect him to say to questions about IDCC or Harris or any other TDMA/GSM IPR holder that is not part of the TDMA/GSM consortium?

Gus, isn't it funny how some walk the tightrope of hypocrisy?

When Nokia publicly says they don't need QCOM's IPR for WCDMA, these people consider it political posturing, and that Nokia will eventually capitulate. They cite ERICY's similar stance prior to the QCOM/ERICY settlement.

But when Dr. Jacobs (allegedly) dismisses IDCC's 3G IPR, at an ASM of all places, it is considered infallible dogma.

Our good friend Ruffian is entitled to believe what he wants to believe. His lack of understanding regarding key 3G technology ownership only strengthens his convictions, and helps keep your informative posts from intruding on his fantasyland vision of the future of telecommunications.
