Re: "I know, I know, "we will bury you" - and I know it's meant sincerely and is an honest opinion.

Intel is a great company and those words still give me a bit of a twinge (since I'm long AMD). But we've heard it again and again since last summer, and the threat is beginning to lose it's sting"

It's not a threat and I said nothing about burying anybody. I don't think Intel can do that at this time. It just means the material being processed today isn't the same material that was processed 2 months ago nor will the material processed in 2-3 months be the same material processed today. Did you see 14 entries for 933MHz CuMines on pricewatch 2-3 months ago? Does that suggest something? Do you expect no change over the next 2-3 months? Why or why not?

>>re: we will bury you<<
Dan-

AMD and Intel investors have differing perspectives. Amdroids are understandably and justifiably continuing to celebrate the turn around that started almost a year ago. It happened very quickly, and Amdroids expect all good things to happen in the same fashion.
Intel, on the other hand, has a long, long, history of steady growth with some pretty bad bumps along the way. We don't expect the kind of growth AMD has had in the last year, but we are calm enough to understand the rule of small numbers. Intel stock is up 60% YTD. While this may be laughable to Amdroids, we are very happy with it. AMD is proof that the worm turns.
In this context, a year does not mean much. Intel is planning for a future that may downplay the importance of CPU's. AMD is a one-note company (well, maybe 2 with flash). Enjoy your tremendous success while it lasts. I sincerely hope it is permanent for both companies.

Regards,
Frank
