Ausdauer, you are a class act. Thanks for your encouraging reflections about your relationship with this thread. Your contributions have never been ignored, though the silence may have sent another message.

You got my attention then, and you have it now.

Aus,

that's a very honest and important post; thanks. Everything you said reinforces Mike's point about just how rare true gorillas are, especially young ones. Just because SNDK isn't there yet doesn't mean it won't get there eventually, nor that it may not be a fine investment. Think of this game the way you would an honest but really tough teacher--the good grades mean that much more if/when they finally come....

Ausdauer,

That was one of the most astute posts I've seen since this thread was formed. I hope everyone who didn't catch all the ramifications as they apply to other stocks and as they apply to why an investor might be on the leading edge of the investing community with or without understanding the justification will read your post a few more times. It simply says it all about patience and doing what's right for each of us while appreciating that each of us has different and valid reasons for doing what we do.

Keep your finger firmly pressed on that fast-forward button. :)

I forgot to mention something about Ausdauer's post.

Probably the most difficult concept for me to grasp has been the notion that locating a gorilla is something that requires all the pieces to be in place simultaneously and the defining characteristics to be established unequivocally.

That speaks to the unusually selective nature of gorilla gaming. However, I see a lot of posts referencing that SanDisk isn't a gorilla. While there might be many people looking for that criterion before investing, we need to remember that it's a reasonable bet to invest in potential gorillas once a tornado has begun. There seems to be little doubt that SanDisk's product is in at least one tornado.
