Last quarterly report was based on the 4th quarter of 1999 results of Aware's customers. With Y2K hot on everyones mind back then, I think the numbers were a little low. I believe Analog upped their estimates from 2 million chipsets to 4 million in the first quarter which should show up in this quarters earnings. I am looking at .12 per share for this quarter. Just a wild guess on my part based on Aware's past.

The 9 cent estimate for the June quarter makes zero sense. With ADI and xDSL sales growing like crazy, the royalty revenue line has got to go higher, and we can assume the test product and contract revenue lines to stay level, at least. The only way they would make the same amount they made last quarter is if....

1- They are ramping expenses, but I don't recall that guidance from the previous conference call.
2- They have run out of tax loss carry forward (??)

I would expect a dime or eleven cents, although since the royalty line is the one that is growing and the royalty gross margins are 100%, at some point in the future I'm hoping for a blowout quarter where they hopefully seriously increase forward expectations - maybe when they finish the Intel contract (if it is still ongoing).
